I miss the Stanford holiday season of last year. Kimball was so cozy, and my friends were so close. My cheeks were all rosy, and our hall smelled like toast. (OK, I admit, that last part was made up purely for the sake of rhyme, but rhyme should never be forsaken. ) But, really, I miss it. I don't know how, but I think that was the most content I've ever been. So peaceful. So perfect. So miss it.

Why are friends and family telling me that they don't understand how Google fits into my plan? As if I have a plan!

I can't ask him out! How and when would we see each other? We're from two/too different worlds... It would be difficult... Difficult enough that it'd be a relief if he declined the invitation. But what about the power of love? Is it not the great wayfinder? If we are to be, won't we? Everything need not effortlessly "fall into place" to indicate fate. Who am I to proclaim dead something that has never really been given a chance to live? Mystery will remain and regret will develop wherever an attempt goes unmade. One can't possibly receive the answer he hopes for if he never asks the question.

Grumpy this morning. Mega-rare. Too little sleep. Gotta fix that. Made for my first tough morning at work. It didn't help that a bunch of great people around me had their seats reassigned, leaving me alone in a sea of strangers. Well, they told me flexibility was a valuable quality when I signed up for this gig. Time to buckle down! Gonna miss my pals, but they're just around the corner, and I've got important work on which to focus! Yo Joe!
